“Let me tell you how passing out tracts changed my entire life. When I was 16 years of age, my pastor, Dr Jack Hyles, who was 33 years of age, announced that we would be starting teen soulwinning on Tuesday, August 9, 1960. I was able to drive my father‘s car that evening to the meeting. We may have had 10 or 12 teens there. Bro Hyles asked if anyone had a car. I said, “Preacher, I have my dad’s car.” He said, “All we’re going to do is pass out tracts tonight.” So we each took a handful of tracts. Bro Hyles said, “I want five of you young people to get in the car with John.” We had three in the front and three in the back. It just so happened that there was a 14-year-old girl who had just entered the high school department that sat in the front seat right next to me. That was the closest I’d ever been to a girl, other than my mother. Five years later, Linda Simpson became my wife. All because she and I listened to our Preacher, and for the first time in our lives, started passing out tracts. Hallelujah. By the way, we are still passing out tracts!”
John Vaprezan was the founder of Metro Baptist Church in Belleville, Michigan. He pastored there for over 50 years.
He spoke these words on the 7:00 AM Michigan Prayer Portal in early 2021, “Men, pass out Gospel tracts.” These words were a key genesis to Fill Michigan which would become Fill America.
