“For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every
place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.”
I Thessalonians 1:8
Handing out Gospel tracts is something every believer young and old can do. One does not have to
be a seasoned saint to tell others about what Jesus is doing in their life. Babes in Christ can stand
along side others who have known the Lord for years in this ministry.
What happens in the lives of the people who give Gospel tracts?
1. People who give out Gospel tracts win personal victories.
In other words, they “lay aside every weight, and the sin” (1) that holds them back.
God promised His presence as we go. Jesus said, “lo I am with you alway” (2) Every victory in the
Christian life is won in His presence. “If we walk in the light as he is in the light, and the blood of
Jesus Christ…cleanseth us for all sin.” I John 1:7
It’s hard to have a bad habit in the presence of Jesus. People who hand out Gospel tracts are walking
with Jesus and winning personal victories. Sharing our faith in Christ is one of the first steps in
winning victory over sin.
2. People who give out Gospel tracts discover God’s will for their life.
If we want to know God’s will for our life, we must first obey His command, and do God’s will with our
life. Bob Hughes, a great missionary of years gone by said, “Who needs a call when you have a
command?”
Jesus said, “If any man will do His will, he will know of the doctrine.” John 7:17 Just do what you know
to do and you will know what’s next to do. Jesus is saying if you “Go” and tell people how to be saved
you will “see your calling.” I Corinthians 1:26
Believers who give Gospel tracts discover God’s will for their life.
3. People giving out Gospel tracts are protected by the presence of the Lord.
The Bible says, “the adultress will hunt for the precious life.” Provers 6:26
What does hunt for precious life mean? It means the world is always looking for “Children in whom
was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and
understanding” Daniel 1:4 In others words evil people are looking for Christians.
The devil is searching for our Christian young people. The good news is that all believers who share
their faith are protected by the presence of Christ. I have learned the adulterer avoids people who
are talking about Jesus and walking with Him.
Christians who hand out Gospel tracts discover their witnessing repels the adulterer.
What happens in the life of the person who receives a Gospel tract?
4. A work of God begins in the life of the one who receives a Gospel tract.
The Bible says, “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will
perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” Philippians 1:6
Every time we give someone a Gospel tract, a work of God begins in their life. Jesus said, “If I be
lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.” John 12:32
Giving someone a Gospel tract when you meet them brings the presence of Christ into the meeting.
A meeting of two strangers now becomes a divine encounter with our Lord and Saviour. Until a
Christian makes contact, nothing happens in the work of drawing men to Jesus. How many people do
you want to start a work of God in their life?
5. Every tract we give someone is recorded in eternity.
According to the Bible God keeps up with all we do in getting the Gospel to people. We read where
the psalmist said “…my wanderings…are…in thy book.” Psalms 56:8 This verse teaches us that God
has a book about our life and work, and He records everything we do for our future meeting with Him.
One day we will be rewarded for what we do for God in this life. The Bible says, “For we must all
appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body,
according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” II Corinthians 5:10
In other words, every deed we do in getting the Word of God to people and sharing our faith will one
day be made known to all. Imagine how much more would be done if we truly believed this great
truth?
Think about what is actually happening in the spiritual world as we advance the cause of Christ in
handing out Gospel tracts.
What people do with the Gospel tract we give them will determine where they spend eternity. If they
say “Yes” to Jesus and His gift of eternal life, they will be in Heaven. If they say “No” to the Gospel,
they will be separated from God forever. The day they received a Gospel tract will be remembered by
them forever and is recorded in their forever.
But more important is that our hands are free from their blood.
The Bible teaches us that God has made us a watchman. “…I have made thee a watchman …When I
say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the
wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his
blood will I require at thine hand.
Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall
die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.” Ezekiel 3:17-19
