The Gospel of Jesus Christ (I Corinthians 15:1-4) is the only message that can save a soul from hell. “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” (Romans 1:16)
It is EVERY Christian‘s responsibility to spread this “glorious Gospel of the blessed God.“ (I Timothy 1:11) The Lord “hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; [19] To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. [20] Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.” (II Corinthians 5:18-20; Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8; I Peter 3:15)
It is the pastor’s responsibility to teach and train his people to be soul conscious and to spread the Gospel at every opportunity. (Acts 8:4) The first and easiest step of this is to preach, teach, encourage, motivate, challenge, beg, bug, pester, our people to carry gospel tracts at all times (Matthew 28:18-20; Ephesians 4:11,12; Titus 3:8). Of course, it is imperative that we set the example (I Peter 5:3; Hebrews 13:7; I Timothy 4:12). At some point, and to some measure, pastors are accountable to God for their own people‘s lack of dedication to spreading the gospel (Hebrews 13:17).
Our country is in a terrible way and is in a desperate need of a great revival. Somehow, there is a link between a national revival and the spreading of the gospel.
